Abstract

"What's in a Picture?" piece on a photo by Fred Philpot of a draft team rolling snow in Springvale for the sleighs that were used before the invention of the automobile. The photo, taken around 1900, shows the Fogg Block building and the house of Elmer E. Wentworth, Springvale's road commissioner and the possible owner of the horses.
