Abstract

"What's in a Picture?" piece on the Mount Zircon House just south of Rumford which burned in the 1870s. The spring at the site was billed as the "waters of health," and developed in the 1850s by Dexter D.W. Abbott, the first cousin of Hiram Ricker of Poland Spring.
