Abstract

Lewiston and Auburn, the close-knit mill sister cities, are in the midst of a transition that includes a destination restaurant Fish Bones American Grill, the infusion of some 3,000 Somalis who have resettled there, cultural events connected to Bates College, the Great Falls Balloon Festival, the Dempsey Challenge bike race, the Museum L-A, and other attractions of local interest. The author envisions a day in L-A by describing three tours: a history and heritage tour, an arts and culture tour, and a winter sports tour.
