Abstract

"What's in a Picture?" piece on a November 7, 1892 photo taken by Biddeford photographer Henry Goshen of two tug boats, the Express and the William Clapp, that sunk while moored together at a wharf on Saco Island in the Saco River. On the previous evening, William Clapp's narrow beam allowed it to tip at low tide which caused it and then Express to fill with water.
