Abstract

The author describes time spent on the job with five people whose occupations could be considered some of "Maine's dirtiest jobs": David Cronk, a worm digger who works along the Maine coast; Richard "Yukie" King, a taxidermist in Stratton; Daniel Kieban, wort cleaner and co-owner of Maine Beer Company in Portland; Al, a bait packer at Purse Line Bait in Sebasco; and Katie Webb, a dairy farmer in Pittston.
