Abstract

"Making it in Maine" piece about mason Pat Manley. Manley has designed and built the wood-fired ovens for restaurants such as Fore Street in Portland, CafΘ Miranda in Rockland, and the Matchbox restaurants around Washington, D.C. Since 2000, Manley and other volunteers head to Guatemala once a year to build masonry cook stoves, known as estufas, for Mayan families.
