Abstract

Account of the writer May Sarton during the time she lived at Wild Knoll in York, where residents experienced both her kindness and her tantrums. Perhaps because of her complicated personality, Sarton never felt fully accepted in York, a sentiment shared by a young newcomer, Victoria Simon, who reached out to the aging writer and was rewarded with her friendship.
