A Town for All Seasons.
Profile of Kingfield, a ski town that has rebounded from its economic slowdown that began about twenty years ago, thanks in part to the Kingfield Pops and the Maine Huts & Trails system. Residents saw the creative economy and outdoor recreation as forces that could revitalize the town. In 2011, a Village Concept Enhancement Plan was endorsed, with economic development one of its goals, along with creating a safe, pedestrian-friendly village and community gathering places. Evidence of the ambitious plan is visible throughout the town.
