Abstract

Willard Carroll and Tom Wilhite of Camden own the world's largest collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia. The collection, some 800 boxes worth, will one day form the nucleus of the National Oz Museum and some of the items will be on display this month at the Farnsworth Art Museum to celebrate the film's 75th anniversary. Carroll, an avid collector (his collections are not just Oz-related, but range from movie soundtracks to Peyton Place merchandise) discusses some of the motivations behind his passion for collecting.
