Abstract

The Bangor Public Library is preparing an $8.5 million addition, which will create, among other things, open stacks-- Bangor is one of the last libraries in Maine with closed shelving -- and the best children's room in the state. The addition began with a renovation order from a city inspector and with a $2.5 million donation from Stephen and Tabitha King. Details.
