Abstract

“Making it in Maine” piece about Stephanie Crossman and her business, Gram J’s Nets on Vinalhaven. Crossman makes netted bags as well as sculptural pieces, a craft she learned from her island husband’s grandmother, who had worked in the netting factory as a child. She has breathed new life into the old Yankee craft with her three-dimensional net animal sculptures.
