Abstract

Article explains ranked-choice voting, gives its history, and presents voting scenarios and their outcomes. The author presents some of the pros (it shifts the focus of and election away from the outcome to the process, which usually results in less negative campaigning) and cons (mathematically even though a candidate may win in the final round, they could still have less than half the total ballots cast on election day).
