Abstract

Rockland woodworker Brian Reid and Trya Hanson, owner of the Gallery at Somes Sound, started the Maine Prison Outreach Program in 2012 which teaches eligible inmates at the Maine State Prison in Thomaston fine woodworking skills using hand tools. The tools are primarily donated by Lie-Nielson Toolworks of Warren. The program is intended give the prisoners practical skills that they can use towards employment upon their release. [images]
