Abstract
This month, the Portland Public Library received an anonymous $100,000 donation, the largest individual donation to date, toward renovation of the library's main branch. Even Director Steve Podgajny is in the dark about the donor's identity. The gift for the Reaching for the Stars campaign puts the library more than halfway toward its $4.5 million goal. In 2004, voters approved a $4-million bond toward the $8.5-million project.
