Abstract

The Portland Public Library's relocated Munjoy Hill branch opened its doors yesterday at the new East End Elementary School on North Street. Brian Damien, head of branch services, said library staff is looking forward to welcoming patrons to the new facility, which will be shared with the elementary school. Damien said he is unaware of other shared public and elementary library services in one location. He hopes the facility will be a model. Susanne Duncan, Munjoy Hill branch manager, said the new space will have an adult section, and will be much quieter for mature users.
