Abstract

Warren Island in West Penobscot Bay is Maine's only offshore State Park. It was a fishing and farming residence during the Revolutionary War era, then became the summer home of Philadelphia miller William Folwell, whose influence remains to this day. Today it is the only state park reachable by every type of boat. Detailed history of the island and its founders and buildings.
