Abstract

Book review of "Lobstering and the Maine Coast," by Kenneth Martin and Nathan Lipfert, a detailed history which also serves as the catalog to a Maine Maritime Museum exhibit. Lobstering reached its peak in the 1880s, when 23 Maine canneries processed 9.5 million pounds of lobster, mostly for the European market. Details, photo of George F.
