Abstract

"Explorations." As recently as the mid-1970s, we did not even know which of Maine's islands were used by nesting seabirds. In 1976, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the University of Maine Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, and the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife joined forces to estimate Maine seabird populations. Aerial photography was an important technique. Details.
