Abstract

Ratepayers on North Haven and Vinalhaven voted in July 2008 to approve a wind-energy project, overseen by the Fox Islands Electric Co-op. Now that the wind turbines are up and running, several neighbors have complained about the noise, an issue that still has to be worked out. In the meantime, electricity costs for islanders have been reduced.
