Abstract

Maine's lawn and garden businesses are a growing $380 million industry, less that Massachusetts and Connecticut but more than the other New England states. The industry responds to improvements in the housing market and economy. Examples include Skillins Greenhouses, O'Donal's Nurseries, and Islandscaping. Garden centers are unlikely to feel any effect from LD 1488, the new water retrieval reporting law. Details.
