Abstract

"The Outdoor Issue." Several chambers of commerce and the non-profit Eastern Maine Development Corp. are promoting "The Maine Highlands," a vast area of north-central Maine, as a tourist destination. Point guy John Holden calls it "an area with a lot of potential that is not getting its fair share of the visitors to Maine." Its advertising agency is attempting to get the name into common usage.
