Abstract

"Business: Central & Western" piece reporting that perpetrators of domestic violence cause serious problems at their workplaces, according to a new study that attempts to quantify why employers should be concerned about domestic violence. The study, conducted by the Maine Department of Labor, and Family Crisis Services of Portland, found that 70 percent of abusers lost a total of 15,221 hours of work time due to their arrests. In addition, 78 percent of offenders used workplace resources to threaten, pressure or track their victims.
