Abstract

Both Maine and federal law allow business lawsuits to be settled by summary judgement, saving the cost and time of a trial. Two recent Maine lawsuits have helped determine whether contracts are sufficiently clear as to allow such judgement: Top of the Track Associates v. Lewiston Raceway, Inc.; and Seashore Performing Arts Center, Inc. (SeaPAC) v. Town of Old Orchard Beach. Both cases are reviewed.
