Abstract

"Business Maine: Central & Western" piece on a new report by the Governor's Task Force on the Planning and Development of Marine Aquaculture in Maine. The report suggests several new industry standards governing issues such as acceptable noise and visual impacts for fish farms and encourages the clustering of fish and shellfish farms, or "polyculture." The report proposes further research into the impact of farmed salmon on the endangered wild salmon.
