Abstract

Article on the ways Maine nonprofits are working to expand their donor base to include the younger generation. Gillian Schair of Portland organized a Giving Circle party at her home early this month, raising more than $1,000 for three nonprofit organizations. Presidential hopeful Howard Dean had a successful grassroots fundraising strategy which included a significant amount from young voters. The Portland Museum of Art recently launched a new initiative, the Contemporary Art Council, to attract younger members.
