Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece reporting that Westbrook-based Olympia Sports recently paid a $186,000 fine to settle 852 state labor law violations involving teenage employees at its 20 sporting goods stores across Maine. The company said the majority of those violations stemmed from teenage employees working longer hours on a daily or weekly basis than allowed by law. The situation has been corrected by the installment of new employee time-monitoring software.
