Abstract

A supplemental "tech 2 GO" piece on Blue Marble Geographics, a geographic information systems (GIS) software company in Gardiner founded by Jeff and Eva Cole in 1993. Third year revenues broke the $1 million mark, and Cole wants to quadruple revenues within five years. Blue Marble does not make complete software systems, but rather products that serve as tools that help the big programs produce better results across a wide spectrum of specific uses, such as its Geographic Calculator and Geographic Transformer for the coordinate system conversions used for petroleum exploration. Employees directly handle questions from customers. With details on how Cole and Patrick Cunningham, director of business development, want to more aggressively market the company nationally and internationally.
