Abstract

"Business Maine" piece on the 25th anniversary of the founding of the private, nonprofit Maine Development Foundation, the first organization of its kind in the country. It was created in 1978 by the Legislature and then-governor James Longley, and has sponsored programs such as the Maine Downtown Center and the annual "Measures of Growth" report. A celebration will be held at the annual meeting in Augusta on Sept. 4.
