Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece reporting on a lawsuit brought by 46-year-old Cape Elizabeth accountant Joe McNulty and his partner Mick Fleetwood, drummer and co-founder of Fleetwood Mac, against British Broadcasting Corporation Worldwide Ltd. (BBCW). Fleetwood and McNulty own Bee Load Ltd., which based in Portland and was created to buy an existing contract that BBCW had with a British company to package, market, and sell live recordings from the BBC archives. Fleetwood planned to act as a liaison to his fellow artists in order to secure their cooperation on the project, and profits would be shared by BBCW and Bee Load. According to the lawsuit, BBCW failed to cooperate and went around the agreement to make deals with other companies to release albums of archived material.
