Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Tim Hussey and Hussey Seating Company, who were recognized last month as the Maine International Trade Center's exporter of the year. Hussey, CEO of the North Berwick company, said gymnasium bleachers, sold almost exclusively to American elementary and high schools, make up more than half of the company's sales. But recent deals supplying stadium seating to locales such as Prague; Vilnius, Lithuania; and Belgrade, Serbia, have strengthened the firm's global presence. Hussey, 48, says exports account for 15 percent of the company's revenues, and he's looking to Europe and China as targets for future export growth.
