Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece reporting that the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) recently fined Pride International, operator of the Pride Rio de Janeiro oil rig build in Portland Harbor, $14,050 for safety violations that led to the death of an employee in a January lifeboat accident. OSHA also fined the project's construction manager, Petrodrill Engineering, $13,950. Pittsfield-based Cianbro Corp., which built the rig, was not fined or cited by OSHA.
