Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece reporting on a trip the Presque Isle-based Maine Potato Board and several other agricultural organizations are taking to Cuba to explore the possibility of exporting seed potatoes. The board hopes to stimulate Maine's flagging potato market in a number of ways, including finding value-added uses for off-grade potatoes, increasing the amount of potatoes processed in Maine and the percentage of irrigated acres, and expanding the Potato Marketing Improvement Fund.
