Abstract

The five-year-old Talk America has reached $100 million in annual telephone sales, primarily of self-help products. Founder and sole owner Rob Graham won the Downtown Portland Corporation's annual economic development award, and Talk America has recently added 100 employees to its 560-person sales force. It answers 70,000 calls a day, from prospective buyers generated through radio talk show guests and contingency-based radio ads. Details.
