Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on Buxton-based Home Project Partners (HPP), founded in 2002 by Paul Lawrence to connect homeowners with pre-screened contractors in York and Cumberland counties. For Dennis Cricones of Westbrook-based DC Construction, the service generates a stream of repeat business. The service is free to homeowners, while contractors pay HPP from 3 percent to 12 percent of the cost of the project. With details on L.D. 1306, "An Act to License Home-builders and Improvement Contractors," which was recently reintroduced by Rep. Troy Jackson (D-Fort Kent).
