Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on how Gov. John Baldacci expects to call a special legislative session immediately after the Federal Base Realignment and Closure Commission announces its final decision in September. Three Maine facilities--Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Brunswick Naval Air Station, and the Defense Financing Accounting Service center in Limestone--might be closed, and the state might have to expand economic development resources in the affected areas.
