"Capitol Update" piece on the state tax on fuels, noting that since last May, the tax has been bringing in less revenue that projected. Maria Fuentes, executive director of the Maine Better Transportation Association, said the Department of Transportation needs to look to stable revenue sources that will assure funds. Gov. John Baldacci said if fuel tax revenues continue to run below estimates, there will have to be cuts to make up for the lost revenue.
