Abstract

"Focus on Building & Real Estate" piece on BlueCurrent of Scarborough, formed by Franz Honer, 22, a Lubec native, and Sabine McElrath, 42, to offer discounted real estate commissions to home sellers. The BlueCurrent model centers on information, posting all available information online to save brokers and buyers time. David Banks of Portland-based Re/Max by the Bay, says his office is not threatened by the new service, which takes a 4 percent commission. Discount brokerages have been around for some time. Honer and McElrath would like to become a franchise if their model works.
