Abstract

"From the Ground Up" piece on a 5 percent vacancy rate for greater Portland area commercial properties, which compares to double-digit rates in other New England markets, despite the fact that office inventory in the Portland area has grown in the past year. Business owners are increasingly looking to buy their own properties, but rising interest rates and construction costs should eventually push vacancy rates down again.
