Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on U.S. Rep. Tom Allen, D-Maine, and his plan to develop and push through the House a package of bills aimed at helping small businesses compete in the global economy. A key proposal is aimed at helping employers obtain affordable health insurance for their workers. Another measure will seek to increase the amount of federal funding provided for research and development.
