Abstract

He details changes in state and federal employment rules that occurred in 2005, including: Maine's family care leave law; the addition of sexual orientation to the list of classes protected under the Maine Human Rights Act; differing state and federal laws governing overtime compensation; Maine's severance pay law; and differing federal and state definitions of a disability. In addition, several court rulings addressed age discrimination, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and gender discrimination.
