Abstract

"Focus: Technology" piece on Virtual Town Hall (VTH), a Portland-based company that develops and hosts websites for towns and cities. Randy Perry, company president, says VTH specializes in building and hosting no-frills websites for municipalities whose populations range from 500 to 85,000 residents. VTH now has 180 towns in 13 states on its roster. VTH charges between $995 and $10,000 to build a site, and between $1,200 and $5,000 a year to maintain it. Founded in 1998, VTH employs 5 workers.
