Abstract

"Focus on York County" piece with an interview with Kevin Adams, president of Kittery Trading Post, who discusses the retailer's impending move into online sales. In preparation, the company plans to add some 15 employees, open a call center, and double the size of an existing warehouse. The store has been owned by the same family since its founding in 1938. A $10-million expansion was completed last summer. Online sales will be a major marketing step for a company that has no catalog, but a necessary measure in order to stay competitive.
