Abstract

York-based Stonewall Kitchen last month rolled out the Barefoot Contessa Pantry line of products, a collaboration with Ina Garten, cookbook author and Food Network television personality who's known as the Barefoot Contessa. Jonathan King and Jim Stott, Stonewall Kitchen co-owners, said the new line includes 40 products. Within the first three weeks after the line went on the market, Stonewall sold 100,000 units of the product, and already plans to add more items this summer. Vicki Tarbell, owner of The Good Table in Belfast, thinks customers will be attracted to the Barefoot Contessa name, but questions how the Garten line will be different from the products Stonewall is already selling.
