Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a state-funded, five-year study of Maine's research and development efforts, which shows that investments are paying off. Michael Luger, director of the study, said that while progress is being made, the state has not been consistent in investing every year in research and development. Sen. Lynn Bromley (D-South Portland) said there is public support for a large bond, but Republicans are opposed to any new borrowing right now.
