Abstract

"Newsworthy" piece with a profile of Jim Lehner, 52, regional general manager and frontman for Seattle-based Plum Creek Timber Co.'s controversial plan to develop its holdings around Moosehead Lake. Because of opposition, Plum Creek incorporated changes such as permanent conservation easements, scaling back a resort from 3,000 to 500 acres, and moving 100 house lots from shorefront to inland sites. Plum Creek hopes the changes will reverse what has been a losing public relations battle.
