Abstract

"Business Maine: Statewide" piece reporting that recently released data from the Environmental Protection Agency shows that Maine industries released a greater amount of toxic chemicals in 2004 over previous years, even as emissions declined in every other New England state. The top chemicals released in Maine were methanol and nitrate compounds, and the largest releases were reported by McCain Foods, USA in Easton; International Paper Co. in Jay; and Domtar Maine Corp. in Baileyville.
