Abstract

"Business Maine: Southern" piece on Whole Foods grocery store, which is building a store in Portland, and recently announced it will no longer sell live lobsters and crabs because it believes the practice is inhumane. But some scientists said that lobsters have such primitive nervous systems that they don't feel pain. Kristen Millar, executive director of the Maine Lobster Promotion Council, said it would be hard to find anything more "natural" in a natural food store than a live lobster.
