Abstract

"Focus: Building & Real Estate" piece on Bath-based Mainely Knobs, which produces custom stone knobs to match granite countertops and other stone surfaces in homes. Founded by Ken Baker and Susan Elkin in 2005, the company grinds knobs from scraps of stone from customers countertop installation of other remodeling project. With comments by Carol Bartlett, a certified kitchen designer who works at Down East Building Supply in Brunswick; Julie Garland, of Bath-based Midcoast Marble and Granite; and Peggy Higgins, an interior designer at Park Row Interiors in Brunswick.
