Abstract

"Business Maine: Northern" piece reporting that the company planning to build an incinerator in Athens recently lost is lease on the land it planned to use for the project. GenPower LLC, a Massachusetts-based firm, had proposed building a $90 million electricity-generating plant in the town. Local residents opposed the project. Instead, another company plans to build a wood-pellet factory on the site. Maine Wood Pellet Co. expects to open next year and hire 25 workers.
