Abstract

"Capitol Update" piece on a report by the Legislature's Office of Program Evaluation and Government Accountability (OPEGA). OPEGA staff reviewed 46 economic development programs and found 20 percent had no clearly stated public purpose, 24 percent lacked measurable goals, 26 percent had inadequate performance measures, and 33 percent do not report their performance regularly or in a manner that provides for public review.
